Here's another question for the group.. As I add newly discovered boxes to Rings & Things III & www.fruitjarrings.com, I've come to question the practicality of adding boxes that so far have only been pictured in catalogs and/or advertisements. Originally, there were only a few Ball boxes seen in ads & assumed to have existed as real boxes at some point. (See B095, B100 & B150). Now however, there have been numerous "new" boxes pictured in a turn of the century Hulman & Cox catalog, plus 3 Butler Bros catalogs dating from 1915-1925. I'm inclined to add them to my listings, but I'd like to know what you have to say - yea or Nay? Here are some of those photos, be warned - some of the pictures are pretty tiny and/or blurry.

Same picture - or not? Photo on the left is an actual jar rings box, (G120 in Rings & Things III). The photo on the right is from a 1920 era wholesaler's catalog.
I've been debating with myself for the better part of a year as to whether these were actually two separate boxes or is the picture on the right simply an illustration of the picture on the left?

Have I mentioned that it's important to take care of your jar rings boxes? If you're like me, you like to handle the items in your collection. Perhaps you let your friends and family handle them as well - all the better to admire them! Every single one of the 800+ boxes in my collection are wrapped in acid free plastic. This allows me to handle & rearrange them as much as I want without having to worry about them gathering dust or accumulating dirt & oils from my hands in the process. I'll be posting some hints and suggestions in this thread.
