My husband is one of those dads.

He has put a roof over my kids’ heads, food in their bellies, and stability in their lives since before they were old enough to understand what that meant - stability I could have never provided for them alone. And even now - even when they’re crazy mean to him, even when they don’t see the weight he carries or the sacrifices he’s made - he still shows up. He still loves them. He still chooses them. Every single day. And he still encourages me to make peace, even when he’s the one hurting.

That kind of fatherhood is rare. And it deserves to be seen.

I pushed with one foot backwards down my steep driveway and popped the clutch. I could run all day that POS, providing I never EVER turned it off. I was 16 yrs old in a $300 '78 Chevette.
