📍 Tag that friend who has ALL the markers and still says “I can’t color!” 😅

We all know her. 👀

Maybe… WE are her. 😂💕

Here's what I want her to know: 𝘀𝗵𝗲'𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗯𝗮𝗱 𝗮𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴. 𝗦𝗵𝗲'𝘀 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗯𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗴𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁.

Big images. Complex palettes. Perfect blending. The pressure to get every little detail just right.

No wonder those markers are put away in a drawer!

But what if it was simple to color?

✨ A tiny mailbox.
💌 An envelope.
💗 One little pop of pink.

That's literally this whole card and honestly it made me smile the entire time I was making it!

Today’s blog post is a little love letter to keeping coloring SIMPLE - from choosing your supplies, to choosing your colors, to letting go of the pressure to make everything perfect.

Because crafting should be FUN, not another source of stress. 🥰

This card started with a dice roll… and ended up with THREE little hats! 🎩❄️

Let me tell you how that happened. 😊

In 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗙𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝘆 we have a fun challenge called 𝙍𝙤𝙡𝙡 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝘿𝙞𝙘𝙚. You roll for things like the number of stamped images, ink colours or embellishments, and then create a card with whatever numbers you get.

No sketch to follow. No one telling you what to make. Just a few creative limitations and room to play!

My roll called for 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗴𝗲𝘀. That’s why this card has three hats instead of one… or five! 😂

And here’s my favourite part: someone else in the group worked from the exact same prompt and made a completely different card. Same challenge, completely different ideas!

I used to think creative limitations would make crafting less fun. But that’s not how I’ve found it to be. Sometimes a few rules makes it easier to get started, because you’re not staring at a blank card front wondering what to do.

Sometimes all you need is a little nudge to get those creative ideas flowing. ❤️

Let’s talk about our patterned paper stash for a minute. 💭😂

You know those gorgeous sheets you buy because you LOVE them so much… and then never use because you can’t figure out how to show them off?

Yep. I have been there!

The 𝗢𝗳𝗳 𝗦𝗲𝘁 𝗣𝗶𝗻 𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗲𝗹 𝗗𝗶𝗲 from Brass & Bliss Craft Co has been an absolute game changer for me. It uses just THREE sheets of paper and combines them in a way that lets even the busiest prints shine without overwhelming the design. ✨

Now I can finally quit hoarding those pretty papers and start using them on my cards!

🎃 𝟯 𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗲𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗽𝗮𝗽𝗲𝗿 + 𝟭 𝗱𝗶𝗲 = 𝗧𝗛𝗜𝗦 𝗛𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗱! 🧡

Okay, I’m still obsessed with how this one turned out! 😍

I made this fun spinning design with patterned paper using the 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝘀𝗲𝘁 𝗣𝗶𝗻𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗲𝗹 𝗗𝗶𝗲 from Brass & Bliss Craft Co. The curved pieces do all the work, giving the card that beautiful pieced-together look without any fussy measuring!

I cut all eight pieces on my Sizzix, dry-fit everything (I learned that one the hard way 😅), and then glued it all down.

And the best thing? This design is not just for Halloween! 👀

This is the card I saved for last, from the new Stay Cozy release. And honestly, this is the one I hope you try your hand at making!

Here’s how I put it together:

❄️ Stamped the Brrrr! Background Stamp in Wintergreen
🤍 Layered a dotted white panel over a larger scalloped white layer
🧢 Created the cozy beanie with Aquatini, Polished, and Wintergreen

That’s it! No coloring. No ink blending. No extra embellishments.

And notice something? There’s no sentiment on the front! 😂 I tried adding one three different times and it just felt like too much. The background already says 𝘣𝘳𝘳𝘳𝘳 so I decided that I’d let the design do the talking.

❄️ 𝗙𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘇𝗶𝗴𝘇𝗮𝗴𝘀, 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗵𝗮𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗺𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗮𝗽𝘀! 💙

Hey friends! Remember those 5 white zigzag strips left over from my last card? I promised they’d make another appearance and here’s the first one! 🙌

For this card, I added one zigzag behind three colorful winter hats from the 𝗦𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗖𝘂𝘁𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗺𝗽 𝗦𝗲𝘁. Such a simple detail, but it adds such lovely texture and ties this card back to my previous project!

Here’s how it came together:
❄️ 𝗕𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱: Brrrr! Background Stamp in Wintergreen on white cardstock.
🧶 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗵𝗮𝘁𝘀: Stamped in Sangria, Over Coffee, and Aquatini.
⭕ 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼𝘂𝗰𝗵: A white Frilly Frames circle to pull it all together.

I skipped the sentiment on purpose, making this card perfect for a birthday, a thank you, or just a cozy hello! 💌

And guess what? It took me only 𝟮𝟬 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝘂𝘁𝗲𝘀 to make this card! I still have FOUR more zigzags in my scrap pile waiting for another project. 😉

🙋‍♀️ Raise your hand if you've ever bought a die, used it once and then… it lived in your craft folder FOREVER!

Guilty here. 😂 But the new 𝗭𝗶𝗴 𝗭𝗮𝗴 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗽 𝗗𝗶𝗲? It earned its keep in ONE afternoon!

Here's why I love it → it cuts the zigzag opening for this cozy card AND creates 𝗙𝗜𝗩𝗘 𝗲𝘅𝘁𝗿𝗮 𝘇𝗶𝗴𝘇𝗮𝗴 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗽𝘀 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲! 🙌 That's five pieces for the scrap stash with zero extra work. Now THAT'S my kind of crafting!

For this card I added 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝘇𝘆 𝗽𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗽𝗮𝗽𝗲𝗿 behind the opening for a little peek, soft snowflakes along the edge and finished with “𝙅𝙪𝙨𝙩 𝙖 𝘾𝙤𝙯𝙮 𝙃𝙚𝙡𝙡𝙤.” ❄️💛

And the best thing? It's not Christmas-specific! This design works beautifully for winter birthdays, thinking of you cards or just sending a little cozy hello to someone who needs one.
