Being eco-friendly is one of my prides as a designer. I have up-cycled some of my favorite gently used clothes into new clips, bibs, and even a sweater dress into a purse. Since then, I have up-cycled many things such as wine bottles, tree branches, aluminum cans, pallets, scrap fabrics, paint chips & more. I originally met Alex at a local playground when we realized we lived in the same neighborhood. Our daughters quickly became friends and to my surprise Alex loved to be creative let alone had an eco-friendly craft. I was so excited, as anything creative just turns a light bulb on inside of me. Her craft… She takes 2L bottles from trash and turns them into unbelievable up-cycled purses. I knew right away I had to have one of my own. After contemplating a concept for awhile I finally came up with my own twist of her craft based on my needs. As a full-time stay at home mom I don’t want to carry a purse to the playgrounds, & my new Droid is a bit large feeling in my back pocket when I go to sit down. So there it was, my design to be was a wallet for my Droid phone with a wristlet strap, as I have my wee one majority of the time and need accessible hands. I coincidently came across this fabric, which is a bit young at heart as I originally intended it to be for Cedeebug herself, but I loved it so much... I thought "let's make it whimsical for mee"! So here it is, :)
