Sierra and I have been working hard at pursuing new adventures by following our dream to start this year. Sierra started growing lavender in Traverse City in 2017 with just 30 plants. Over the years we planted more lavender, toured other farms, learned to make lavender cosmetics, and dabbled in culinary products.
I owned and operated and at the time and have plans to integrate some of the elements from each to in the future.
I have not had time to put focus on the Great Lakes Made online marketplace this year, but the end goal is to offer a completely free platform for makers, artisans, and small businesses to list products, post blog articles, local events, etc. There will even be a way to automate it so when you list on your own website it will automatically post your new products or blogs on the Great Lakes Made feed. The purpose will be to simply promote local talent in the Great Lakes Region because I know first hand the challenges and struggles it takes to market a small business.
Looking forward to seeing local talent around West Michigan while I represent Great Lakes Lavender Farm at farmers markets and events this year.
