To Our Valued Customers,
As we look back on the past six years, I wanted to take a moment to personally thank you for your incredible support. Every year is a learning experience, and our mission at Midwest Compost Solutions continues to be finding better ways to serve you by focusing on what truly matters: the health of your soil.
Our main goal has always been to help you reduce the need for heavy chemical fertilizers. We believe the best way to do that isn't by just feeding the grass, but by building a naturally thriving ecosystem right under your feet through compost topdressing. When we improve soil health, the benefits speak for themselves:
Boosted Biology: Compost injects billions of beneficial microbes and fungi into the dirt, which break down locked-up nutrients and deliver them directly to your grass roots.
Higher CEC (Cation Exchange Capacity): Compost drastically increases your soil’s natural ability to hold onto vital nutrients, keeping them in the root zone instead of letting them wash away.
Superior Water Management: Organic matter acts like a sponge. It opens up hard, compacted clay soils to improve drainage, while simultaneously helping sandy soils retain moisture so your lawn stays resilient against drought.
The truth is, nobody has all the answers when it comes to the complexities of complete soil health—and we are no exception. But we are committed to learning, experimenting, and evolving every single season.
To that end, we are really excited about some new solutions we are researching and testing this summer to target specific problem areas:
Balancing Minerals for W**d & Compaction
Control: We are looking into the strategic addition of calcium and sulfur. Correcting these mineral balances can be a game-changer for breaking up severe soil compaction and naturally discouraging stubborn, dandelion-infested lawns that thrive in low-calcium environments.
Natural W**d Prevention: We are exploring the use of corn gluten as a natural, non-chemical pre-emergent to help stop w**d seeds from establishing in the first place.
Thank you for trusting us with your lawn and partnering with us to build healthier, more sustainable soil. We are excited to see where these new trials lead and to bring the best results to your property!
Best regards,
The Team at Midwest Compost Solutions
