i’ve chatted with so many mamas who have experienced a heartbreaking loss, and they all say the same thing - that it hurt so much when someone close to them knew about their loss and didn’t do or say anything at all.

it’s okay to not know what to say or do. but it’s not okay to act like it never happened.

it doesn’t have to be perfect and can be as simple as, i’m so sorry, i’m thinking of you, i’m here for you. anything to make sure she knows she’s seen & supported. because the silence can be deafening.

It’s not something you expect when going through infertility…

to defend the fact that you aren’t pregnant.

It was two weeks before I had an egg retrieval.

I was at a party and basically everyone had a drink in their hand, except me who had a water.

Someone came up to me and said, “Not drinking…are you pregnant?” To which I responded, “no.” They continued on.

“C’mon…you must be pregnant.”

“Nope, I most certainly am not.”

“We’ll see in nine months…”

I ended the conversation with, “trust me, I wish.”

It was a moment that has stuck with me because I so badly wanted to be pregnant and having to continuously say that I wasn’t, was another kick in the gut.

And no shade to this person at all because I feel like this has been a social norm for way too long. And before going through infertility, I swear I’d probably done this myself.

So, just a gentle reminder - there can be more than one reason someone doesn’t have a drink in their hand at the party🫶🏼

 But there are also moments that are really freaking hard - and we don’t sugarcoat those.

Every journey is different, and we believe every woman deserves to feel seen and supported, no matter what hers may look like🫶🏼

if you’ve been here a while, you know I share the highs and lows of building this business.

& this one felt pretty cool…but in a quiet way.

we received an order and realized it came through through ChatGPT recommending brooksybox.

there’s SO much that happens behind the scenes of any business that rarely gets seen.

but this little moment felt like proof that all the silent work we’ve been doing lately matters.

and it made me think about how often in life we’re putting in the work long before we ever see the payoff.
