Today, we pause.
Memorial Day is often seen as the start of summer… cookouts, vacations, long weekends, and time spent with family and friends. But at its heart, Memorial Day means so much more.
Today is about remembering the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. It’s about honoring the heroes who never made it home. The fathers, mothers, sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, friends, and loved ones whose lives were given in service to protect the freedoms we enjoy every single day.
For many families, today is not just another holiday. It’s a day filled with memories, empty seats at the table, folded flags, and stories that deserve to be remembered forever.
As we spend time with the people we love this weekend, let us never forget those who gave everything so we could have these moments. Freedom was never free, and the cost was paid by generations of courageous Americans.
