π©Έπ± BEWARE OF TICKS β THE ULTIMATE BLOODSUCKERS! π
Did you know that a tick can attach to YOU or YOUR PET and feed on blood without you even realizing it?!
π¨ TICK SEASON IS NO JOKE!
In today's YouTube Short, Craig from How To Pest explains how ticks attach to humans, dogs, cats and other animals to feed on their blood!
π©Έ HOW DO TICKS FEED?
π THEY WAIT FOR A HOST! Many ticks climb onto vegetation and wait for a person or animal to brush past.
π THEY ATTACH TO SKIN! Ticks use specialized mouthparts to pierce the skin and anchor themselves while feeding.
π± YOU MIGHT NOT FEEL THE BITE! Tick saliva contains substances that can make their bites difficult to notice.
π©Έ THEY CAN FEED FOR DAYS! Depending on the tick species and life stage, an attached tick may feed for several days, becoming noticeably engorged.
β οΈ THE REAL DANGER?
Some ticks can transmit serious diseases, including Lyme disease, Rocky Mountain spotted fever and ehrlichiosis. The risks vary by tick species and geographic location.
