Ages and stages of the chickens we have!
From the time we get a butt nuggets until it is time to sell or process for ourselves, we pride in our barnyard mixes as well as "purebred". Understanding a hen can hold on to seman for up to 3 months we separate the males and females when someone requests a specific breed, yes that then does take time.
The reason behind our higher than average pricing is we hold a high standard. We feed whole food to our flock. The last batch was: cracked corn, Oats, dried peas, itialn herb mix, crushed red pepper, dried garlic, and they always get all egg shells. So yes, feed is expensive, but then the flock is happier and produces a taister and leaner meat.
Here at our ranch we are always incubating eggs. The kids enjoy trying to guess who the parents are and it is then turned into a lesson that can be used for school credit.
So with all that, yes we are expensive. Yes, we do hatch all the time, yes we do incubate 20 at a time. Yes, we do drive the chickens to you if you so wish, up to 4 hour radius.
Tha k you all for ypur love and support. We look forward to hatching some babies for you!
