McIntosh MC2205 Restoration - this one was a labor of love; came in with a smashed faceplate, bent gain pots, rusted out lamp bezels and chassis screws, and a sad looking wood case with a completely broken and missing cross brace 😒 After new glass + many hours of cosmetic and electrical work, it looks like it should be in a museum 😀

Kenwood TK-40: fun little early solid state receiver. Shipped to me by the original owners family, and by the looks of it had never been serviced. Wasn't planning on fully recapping this unit, but leaky caps were everywhere and causing issues in every section. After restoration it sounds fantastic, very tube like. Cleaned up nicely if I don't say so myself 😎

JBL 250ti - Charge Coupled Crossover project with all new Jantzen Cross Caps, Superes Resistors and Air Core inductors. Turned out spectacular and does sound noticeably better than the original.

Harman Kardon TA600 - somewhat of a rare bird. Completely rebuilt this one: fully recapped, replaced original Darlington output devices with new TIP Darlingtons, replaced all problematic transistors, cleaned controls + tuning cap, realigned tuner, and refinished case. Looks beautiful and sounds even better!

⭐️⭐️A sight to behold, the Technics RS-1700 Auto Reverse!⭐️⭐️

This one was not recording in the R channel, had a nasty squeal during FF/REW, and reels that wouldn't stop spinning after the tape ran out: both relay's were found to have corroded contacts, due to lack of modern replacement, contacts were cleaned. Then it just needed a drop of oil on the timing belt pulley, an adjustment of tension arm micro-switches, and a good tape path cleaning. Sounds excellent now 👍👍👍

Teac X-10 - in for new belts and pinch roller repair. Left pinch roller was completely seized, removed entire transport assembly, cleaned up old grease and relubricated mechanism. Cleaned tape path and heads. Working like a charm now, listening to a little Enoch Light Provocative Percussion and sounding fabulous. Happy Friday!

Crown PSA-2 Full Restoration - this one got all the bells and whistles! New WBT binding posts mounted in custom 3D printed inserts, new Cardas GFRA RCA jacks, replaced all signal cables with Cardas Crosslink 1L Litz wire, replaced all speaker wire with Cardas 4x13awg Crosslink 1S, installed Furutech FI-06 IEC inlet, installed new fan from AE Techron, completely recapped with a mix of Nichicon UFW/UKG and Vishay audio grade caps, new KEMET 10,000uf/100V main filter caps mounted in custom 3D printed housing, new 25k volume pots, new Laird thermal insulators on all output devices, new relays mounted remotely on separate PCB, new fan speed control resistors all body panels repainted by autobody shop, and new 3D printed side panel inserts to replace rack handles (with Crown logo).

After offset/bias adjustments and 120 hour burn in, this one is pushing 244 watts at 8 ohms, both channels driven. Love the way this Crown is engineered, it was a dream to work on, all the boards come out nicely making for easy work. Extremely impressed by the PSA-2!

It's been awhile, hello everyone! The last year has been incredible, I've been inundated with restorations and repairs and have been laying low on Facebook.

Thought I would kick things off with my recent acquisition and repair of this beautiful Sansui G22000... This one had bad umbilical cord connectors and fusible resistor problems. New 12 pin male/female connectors, replaced all 7x fusible resistors (6x in the amp section and 1x in the preamp section), recapped the preamp power supply, applied Deoxit D5/F5 to all controls and switches, ultrasonic cleaned all k***s and this one has found it's new home as my daily driver 😁

That's a Sansui 9090db next to it in the pictures, it's incredible how small it looks next to a big G.
