The first picture is a few hours in. The mustard has turned everything black and is working its magic.
The second picture is after washing the mustard off. This is the pattern left by the mustard.
And that is how it’s done.

I always get asked about the finish on my knives. When I say it is a mustard finish, people are a little taken a back.
So here is the ultra secret process that I use.
There is sound, but it’s pretty low, sorry.

A little peak at what is happening in the shop lately. This past weekend I put the initial edges on the rest of the heat treated knives. Sunday I cleaned up the flats and started on final edges. I touched 34 knives in total.

Been a busy couple of weekends, but I’ve still be working in the shop, when I could.
This was what was accomplished on the 15th. All have the edges ground in at 60 grit.
I have another batch of about the same number that need to catch up.
