Herb garden at Historic Rockford Museum. Part of every retreat I will hold is taking an herb walk. Garden walks are great but my favorite is going on a wild nature walk, looking for forest fungi🍄 and wild plants.

Demonstrating Rug Hooking today and selling my teas 🫖🫖 at the Historic Rockford Museum in Lancaster...Family Day Celebration.

We have gorgeous weather and I am in a period style dress. It feels so good to step back in time. It is these historic events, historic homes, slow crafts, herbal teas and time disconnected from the pace of modern life that I am recreating with my upcoming Women's Retreat (August 14-16th).

I think healing often starts by remembering how to be still. Under old trees, time feels different. It feels restorative, and like a link to the past. This is my intention behind my upcoming retreats- fiber arts 🧶, tea🫖, and nature woven together to create space for rest and creativity.

Spring Water boiled on a Gas stove is better but but for class I use my handy Electric teapot - with the cool blue light!

Had a lovely tea party today in Oley. I love meeting with new people and hearing their stories. I am a bit of a listener; I like to think I am a good listener and am genuinely curious about how people do life.
I always leave a tea party inspired. There was one beautiful woman there today, 84, and still gardening and graceful. She inspired me with her clever ensemble and zest. Of course there was Erin Mathews who out did herself with the baked goods and fruit platter. I wish I took a picture of the food! I was too busy enjoying at that time. Then the hostess- she had a perfectly decorated and organized home that felt so very comfortable.
I enjoyed myself immensely and I got to talk about herbs.🌿🌱🌿🌾🌿🌱

I have wanted to do an artist and reisdency for years. Guess what? It was everything I imagined and more. Maybe this will only make sense to people who love nature and making art. Some may find peace and quiet and no distractions discomforting and boring.
I thrive in a natural environment and this weekend my creative flow was flowing. I stayed Bloom Farm in Oley...and felt like I was in Heaven. Here are some pics from my weekend. I will save posting my artwork for when I have some actual progress. I took a lot of pictures and made sketches. Very excited to get to work. What I leanred this weekend: I remembered myself. I remembered the young girl who played outside in the grass, took long walks and dreamed about seeing the world. Today though I am happy to explore the unique nooks and cranies in my own backyard. There is richness and depth in Berks County, if you look for it.
