Biography:
Janessa was born and raised in the small beach town of Seaside, California. She comes from a large family with her parents both being immigrants that came from Belize and El Salvador to the US for an opportunity to live the American Dream. She is the second of six children, and grew up listening to the stories her father would tell her and her siblings every night before bed.
Being homeschooled most of her elementary, middle school, and high school years, she was able to explore all of her creative talents in art, music, and more.
Janessa met her husband in college, and they married shortly after he joined the United States Air Force. They now have a beautiful son and are currently stationed in North Carolina. Having her own child inspired her to write and illustrate children’s books so that she can read them to her son, to tell him stories just as her father did when she was a little
The goal Janessa would like to accomplish with her latest book “My Fruit n’ Veggie ABC’s” is to continue making learning fun between parent and child, along with encouraging healthy eating and by raising awareness of the unique fruits and veggies around the World.
