Crossing the Line for Milagro 🌵🇲🇽

Rhode Islanders, this one's worth the short drive over the state line. Just past Westerly, tucked into Stonington Borough on Water Street, Milagro is the bright turquoise spot you can't miss, and the colorful, cozy dining room is just as cheerful inside.

We started with chips and guacamole, a creamy, smooth blend of avocado, onion, cilantro, and tomatillo, with house-made corn chips for scooping. Then we added the corn fritters, golden and crispy, with a creamy dipping sauce. 🌽

The specials board is where Milagro really shows off:
🐟 Salmon topped with a silky avocado cream sauce, served over rice and greens
🦀 Blackened soft shell crab with a bright beet salsa and a crunchy slaw
🍍 Blackened fish piled high with a pineapple and pepper salsa

From the regular menu:
🌮 Baja fish tacos: beer-battered fish on habanero slaw in soft flour tortillas
🥩 Carne asada tacos: steak with caramelized onion, guacamole, cilantro, and onion, with rice and beans

And yes, the margaritas are a must. 🍹

Next Saturday, October 17, come run or walk the back roads of Foster at peak foliage. The course starts and ends in historic Foster Center and goes past farms, meadows, and old stone walls. It's one of the prettiest courses in Rhode Island, and every step helps the South Foster Volunteer Fire Company. 🚒

🐕 Dog- and stroller-friendly (leashes please!)
🏅 Age-group awards in both races
