Cecil Brunch Club Let's face it, we eat everyday. Twice a month, let's all join to help keep our local restaurants going, swap some stories, shop, sightsee and have fun.

Thank you to the six Brunchers (Cecil Brunch Club) members as we visited Rising Sun's, Bog Turtle Brewery last Saturday afternoon. Our server was Kate who took care of us hungry patrons with a good natured smile the whole time. We had special requests for a couple of our orders and I think she was flawless while also attending to other tables in this busy downtown eatery. You did not have to drink a brew, we ordered ice tea, sodas and water. CBC veteran, Gloria had a nice grilled chicken salad, we also ordered burgers, Italian chicken sandwich, Belgium fries etc.
For a chilly, snowy morning, Bog Turtle had a busy crowd.
Stay tuned for our next foodie adventure and thank you everyone. It will be on a Sunday at 1pm in South Chesapeake City. No date yet.

Alright Brunchers, we have reservations at Bog Turtle Brewery on Main Street in downtown Rising Sun on Saturday, January 11th at 2pm.
I'll post the event soon. Thank you, everyone.
Note; we'll be at their "Captain's Table" so we can all sit together.
also they have sodas, water in pitchers that they will bring to the table, fresh brewed tea, ginger ale, etc.

Get ready for our next CBC event at Spork in downtown Elkton next Saturday, April 27th from 12-2pm.
I was not able to do a March event which should have been in Rising Sun, but we will try to get there on our next foodie venture.

Former Simply Savory Cafe & Catering owner and current CBC member Angela may have closed her business in 2020 due to COVID-19 and lack of corporate caterings, but she has not hung up her kitchen apron. She's still making meals for clients and this weekend, Angela is cooking soups and sausage puffs.
For anyone who hates to come home after a long day to cook, let her be your chef.
With a five order minimum, she offers free delivery and a cookie.

I would like to thank all the Cecil Brunch Club members who came out for our Granite Run Tap room event in downtown Port Deposit today.
This is our second trip here at this location, but different ownership. The food is still very good and our server, Lisa and staff did a great job.
We sat in seven seats and our brand new member is Carol. It is always nice seeing new faces so I hope she joins us again for our upcoming events.
After we finished our meals , paid and took the group photo, I went around a small portion of the town and took some other photos that I found interesting. It would take too much time to cover all the interesting parts of Port Deposit, but when we return I'll try to cover some other interesting places as I usually do. One of those places is the Bainbridge museum which is open on Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The museum is open to the public and it is free, they do have some donation jars. You can learn a lot from the history of the Bainbridge Naval Base in the volunteers who are are very knowledgeable and they always enjoy hearing the stories from others who had visited there before it closed in 1976.
The CBC has now sat in a total of 2,140 seats of Cecil County restaurants, mom and pop shops, a church, a VFW, an art gallery, a bowling alley and a tea room. I want to thank everyone who has come out to these events in the last 10 years. I started the group in March of 2013 and it will be nice to keep it going as I've had many requests to do so. I understand we can't be at every event, but as I told our group today, once a bruncher always a bruncher.
Our next event in December will be at Hammer's in Warwick in the very southern part of Cecil County near the Delaware border. I do not have a date picked out yet but let's try for a Sunday as I try to alternate the weekend days. Thank you, everyone.
