2022 American Women Quarters – Error Alert Sheet (Applies To All Mint Marks: P • D • S)

Keep an eye out for these error varieties — they’re being actively collected and traded. Each of the five 2022 American Women Quarters may contain unique die errors, appearing across the Philadelphia (P), Denver (D), and San Francisco (S) mints.

1. Maya Angelou (2022)
Features Maya Angelou with a bird on the reverse. Known for obverse and reverse die chips and cracks.
• • “Drooling George” – Obverse die chip at Washington’s chin/mouth, looks like drool.
• • “Nesting Bird” – Reverse die gouge near bird’s beak resembling a twig.
• • Miscellaneous reverse die cracks and chips around shoulder and earring.

2. Dr. Sally Ride (2022)
Depicts Dr. Sally Ride beside Earth; notable for die clashes and obverse chips.
• • “Ghost / Comet Tail” – Reverse die clash behind portrait and Earth design.
• • Obverse die chips similar to 'Drooling George'.
• • Occasional die breaks near rim or bust area.

3. Wilma Mankiller (2022)
Reverse shows Wilma Mankiller with the Cherokee syllabary inscription.
• • “Scarface” / Deformed 'C' – Die mark through cheek or Cherokee syllabary.
• • Large retained cud or rim-to-design die break.
• • Small die chips near the star or lettering.

4. Nina Otero-Warren (2022)
Features 'VOTO PARA LA MUJER' reverse, symbolizing women's suffrage in New Mexico.

• • “Flower in Hair” – Clustered die chips in Washington’s hair resembling a flower.
• • Cracks through reverse text 'PARA LA'.
• • Minor dual die cracks (obv + rev).

5. Anna May Wong (2022)
Portrait of Anna May Wong with marquee lights; obverse motto error is most famous.
• • “IN GOD WE TRUST” – Filled G in 'GOD' causing 'COD'.
• • Doubled die obverse on hair and ear.
• • Die chips near reverse hair fringe and hand.

Collector Notes
These error varieties appear across all mint marks (P, D, S). Value depends on clarity, grade, and rarity of each error. Keep both sides of your coins under magnification to identify die chips, cracks, and clashes.
