This weeks featured presenter for the 2026 Greater New Orleans Pagan Pride Day
Georgi Gardiner.
She is an Associate Professor of Philosophy and GESS (Gender and Sexuality Studies)
at Tulane University. She teaches creativity and specialises in ‘philosophy through art, play, and
adventure’, such as using Lego, game-design, and tarot cards for research and learning.
Gardiner’s research includes philosophy of occult practices and countercultural community. She has
written on tarot, ritual, kink, and s*x witchcraft. She is currently writing a book called ‘Unthinkable’
about when people have self-protecting mental blocks about traumatic experiences, such as s*xual
violence.
Gardiner’s approach is intermodal: She is editing a philosophy book that interweaves scholarly essays
with poetry, fiction, paintings, collage, and interactive activities, for example. Gardiner is a circus
performer and, before moving to New Orleans, ran a countercultural q***r arts events space called
the Playhouse.

At this year's festival, Georgi will Present "Put the Clowns in Charge."
In her presentation, she will briefly describe the main roles in the Wlyd Fire Hunt. Why" being governed by clowns- at least in a contained manner- has profound, transformative, value for personal growth, creativity, and communal flourishing."
