Some artists create with paint. Some with pencil. Teddi chose skin—a living canvas, worn through every season of a person’s life.
At SideQuest Collective Tattoo & Piercing, Teddi’s story feels less like someone who simply became a tattoo artist and more like someone who built an identity around art itself. Working beneath the name *Velvet Kudzu*, her creative world feels intentional—equal parts softness and wild growth, beauty and boldness, delicacy and permanence.
There is something deeply personal in the way Teddi presents her work. Tattooing, for her, appears to be more than ink pressed into skin; it feels like storytelling. A collaboration. A moment where memory, meaning, identity, grief, healing, humor, love, or reinvention becomes something tangible enough to carry forever.
Like kudzu winding itself around what already exists, Teddi’s artistry seems to meet people where they are—taking fragments of an idea, a feeling, or a story and helping transform them into something rooted, visible, and alive. No two stories are the same, and no two pieces should be either.
Inside SideQuest’s creative, community-centered space, Teddi appears to have carved out a corner entirely her own: one built on artistry, trust, and the quiet understanding that tattoos are rarely just tattoos. Sometimes they are milestones. Sometimes armor. Sometimes reminders of who we were—or who we are becoming.
And somewhere in the middle of all of that is Teddi: artist, collaborator, storyteller—creating permanent art from temporary moments.
