Gibson ES-335 60s - Dark Walnut

The ES-335 returns in its refined, 60s-era form At Gibson, they understand that not everyone has the same tastes in guitars. Some prefer one model over another, and even within models, players may prefer a specific year or range of years, depending on changes to the model over time, such as color variations, different pickups, subtle feature variations (e.g., pickguards, inlays, and plastics), and different neck profiles. PRS Wood Library McCarty Tremolo 408 - Arctic Blue

Tucked away upstairs in a corner of PRS's 85,000 square foot factory are racks of extraordinary wood. Maple, mahogany, korina, rosewood, swamp ash, you name it. Dozens of species of timber hanging out in this area they call the “Wood Library.”

The Wood Library program is in a way similar to their Private Stock program in that it is an elaborate menu-based program for the PRS Core line of guitars designed to give their dealers the opportunity to build special runs for their store and customer base. The common misconception is that the quality of the wood in the wood library is unique. That’s not the case; the wood library is graded on the same scale in which they grade their other woods: Core, 10-top, Artist Package, Private Stock.

In the late 1980’s, Paul Reed Smith called on Ted McCarty to consult with him on guitar design and production techniques. McCarty not only served as a mentor but became a great friend of Paul and everyone he met at PRS. The PRS McCarty family of instruments incorporate the full spectrum of techniques and knowledge Paul had gained from Ted as well as his own experiences as a guitar builder.
