(1) 避免布商大量丟棄質量好的剩布,直接減低堆填區壓力;
(2) 透過不同渠道售賣我們的手巾仔、蜂蠟保鮮布、可重用化妝棉等等可重用日常用品,直接向巿民宣傳「重用」的重要性,期望進一步做到在生活中減廢;
The Chief Project collects and upcycles leftover fabric yardages from professional cotton fabric manufacturers
, giving them a second life as different kind of reusable fabric daily products through the hands of local women labour organisations. By doing this we:
1) Prevent manufacturers from disposing large amounts of high quality fabric, in turn relieving wastage pressure on our landfills
2) Provide an alternative solution by guiding Hong Kong towards a zero waste lifestyle with various reusable fabric products, such as handkerchiefs, beeswax wraps, reusable facial cotton pad, etc..
3) Develop social capital by creating jobs for unemployed women workers in our community
The Chief Project aims to produce a triple-win situation for our community. The Chief project is working towards creating a zero-waste future where reusable fabric products could substitute various disposable daily products, at the same time providing opportunities for women workers who are working hard to take care of their families and children.
