On May 13, at about 7:45 a.m., police say they received a call from a pregnant woman’s family members saying she was found unresponsive inside a home on Carrol Drive in Sumter, South Carolina. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

On May 14, Sumter County Coroner revealed her unborn child also didn’t survive.

The victim was identified as 25-year-old Keyirra Tatyana Walker. She was a mother of two and five months pregnant.

Walker was in a bedroom in her home and was fully dressed when a close family member found her.

Police said the shooting is considered to be an isolated incident that most likely was carried out during the early morning hours by someone who knew Walker.

Information about a motive for the shooting was not available.

No arrests have been reported by police, who are continuing to investigate the shooting.
