We have some exciting news to share!

Our farm stand & bakery has moved to a bigger location at North Creek Farm! We are not that far from our old location beside the Hidden Mountain Gift Shop.

Less then a quarter mile heading south on Sebasco Rd, first driveway on your left.

We are seeking someone to bake delicious, homemade pies from a licensed kitchen to help us meet demand on busy days, weekends, and holidays throughout the summer season.

For today we have: Pies (Strawberry Rhubarb, Bumbleberry, Razzleberry and Blueberry) $16 each

We also have Raspberry Tarts, Jams, Jellies, Maple Syrup, Honey, Fudge, Whoopie Pie Fudge, Assorted Cool Weather Seedlings, and Eggs and Lettuce (in cooler)

We are excited to announce that we will be opening up for the season on Saturday April 11th. Business hours will be 9a-5p.

We intend to have our famous pies 🥧, fudge, assorted local jams, jellies, maple syrup and honey 🍯 cold weather seedlings 🌱 and a few other items. We hope to see you!

Celebration of Life for James J. Gilman
Family and friends are invited to celebrate the life of James J. Gilman on
Saturday, February 21, 2026, from 1:00–4:00 PM,
at the West Bath Fire Station Hall,
192 State Road, West Bath, Maine.
A celebration of life service, centered on memories, shared reflections, and carrying forward James’s gift of love to others, will be led by Rabbi David Curtis. This will be a time to gather, share stories, and remember James in a way that reflects the simple, meaningful life he lived.
Please feel free to bring a favorite memory to share—either spoken or written for Rabbi David to read aloud.

Dear Friends,

We are saddened to share that James J. Gilman, my beloved brother and business partner at The Farmer’s Cupboard farm stand, passed away at Mid Coast Hospital on Sunday morning, January 4, 2026.

My brother was a quietly devoted, steady, and loving presence—the kind of person whose importance is felt most deeply once the world goes still without him.

He was a man of simple needs and simple pleasures, and a quiet but essential part of our farm stand. He worked mostly behind the scenes, and those who do often are the most reliable people in the room—the ones who do not seek credit, but simply make sure things are done; the steady work that holds life together.

The farm stand meant a great deal to him, and serving the community was something he took quiet pride in.

Thank you for supporting our small business over the years and for being part of something he cared so deeply about. Your kindness and presence have always mattered more than you know.

Arrangements are being handled by Funeral Alternatives in Brunswick, Maine. Condolences and memories may be shared on their guestbook page once the official obituary is posted to their site. Plans for a celebration of James’s life will be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, James would be honored if donations in his memory were made to General Assistance Fund, Phippsburg Town Hall, 1042 Main Road, Phippsburg, ME 04562, or The Phippsburg Fire and Rescue, 1060 Main Road, Phippsburg, ME 04562.
