As someone who doesn’t celebrate Christmas, but loves the festivity of the holidays, I opted to turn my cactus into my holiday tree 🥲 I added some leftover pearl garland from last years shop display and some vintage tassel ornaments I found on eBay and now my cactus looks like a Christmas tree straight outta Joshua Tree 😂

I also added some seashell clusters to my garland, I pulled these shells out of a collection I’ve been holding onto since high school! And as a beach girly, forever and always, adding sea shells to my holiday decor seemed like an appropriate little touch to make it mine 🥰

Only one more weekend left before Christmas! I’m not sure where December went but it’s flyingggg by.
We’re doing our best to keep the Souk fully stocked for all the holiday shopping, but we do have some items that are running very low and we won’t be getting anymore until January, so if you are on the hunt for something specific, don’t wait!

We’re only 10 days away from Christmas Eve — where did December go?! We will be open everyday until Christmas Day! 🫶🏽
We’re doing our best to keep the Souk stocked with all of your favorites but you guys have been SO amazing, we’re running low on a lot of items (no matter how prepared I thought I was) and we won’t be restocking until January. So if you’re hoping to get something specific (everyone’s fav + ) I highlyyyy recommend getting in soon! 💝

✨ Our new merch is finally here, and it’s truly a labor of love. ✨

These designs were brought to life in collaboration with Philadelphia illustrator Symone Salib, who transformed the vintage stamps I found in Turkey and postcards handed down from my dad into the illustrations you see today. Each piece carries the stories, memories, and spirit of Damascus and the souks I grew up visiting.

The word “yalla”—a joyful Arabic expression meaning “let’s go” or “come on”—ties it all together. As a child, I would say to my mom, “Yalla, let’s go to the souk!” That same playful, eager energy inspired this merch.

Wearing these pieces is a way to celebrate and represent Syria, and it’s especially meaningful as this drop aligns with Syria’s one-year anniversary of liberation. To honor that, we’re donating $5 from every purchase to SAMS to support Syrian families and medical care.

This merch is so much more than just that—it’s heritage, memory, and community stitched into every design, and a little piece of the Souk we now hold on East Passyunk that you can carry with you.

WOW. What an eventful two-day workshop weekend with 🙌🏼 We had a blast hosting you all and teaching you the way of our Teta’s (grandma), and let me tell you, they would be PROUD of your fatayer making skills. You came, you cooked and you left with full bellies–the true Arab way 🥰

Just some more BTS of our holiday window display, it’s still a work in progress but we’re getting somewhere ✨

Some things I want to do still…I have oranges that I want to add into the garland for a little more pop of color, we have the cutest vintage push pin ornaments I found on Facebook last year that I want to hang or just cluster across the floor, and of course, we need a tree! 🌲
