It looks like there are certain people that will take advantage of other people's naivete by convincing them that they can receive "free" money. That, of course, is NOT going to happen. Remember the old saying "..there is no such thing as a free lunch.."! this is an alert to all folks hoping to receive free funds and hopes to prevent you from losing your hard-earned dollars!
This scam starts with a message similar to this: " What would you do with the money if i gave you $5000.00 Dollars"! They then give a choice of answers! If you answer any of the choices the scammer has you now interested and will entice to continue! If you ask where the money is coming from, they will give an answer similar to this:
"###XX company is distributing some of its profits...."! In the following sample the company name is ALDI which is a successful supermarket chain throughout Germany and Europe! They have expanded into the United States and the scammer is taking advantage of ALDI's success by claiming the company is distributing their profits to needy people! The scammer will then entice you into sending him/her to send a registration fee usually of $55.00 Dollars. This "fee" is to be sent to them in the form of a Prepaid or Gift Card which you need get at your local store. You are then instructed to take pictures of the card front and back and send them to the scammer via email or messenger! And now they will claim that your money is ready to be sent to you, but you must first send them another prepaid/gift card of $100.00 to inform their contacts bookkeeper to make the money available for distribution! If you decide to go on and do as demand and send this amount to the scammer as well, you will either receive more demands for additional fees or the scammer will suddenly disappear without you ever receiving any money!
I hope this bit of information will help you not to fall into the scammers trap and save you a bit of your hard-earned money and frustration and aggravation!
