Ever since we gave the kitties free reign of the barn, we hardly see them. In all honesty, we have yet to see Spinach so I’m not even sure if he stuck to the barn. We have seen Spud a handful of times and today she even graced us with her presence during the day! I’d say she’s gotten quite comfortable with her surroundings and has even left the remnants of a few mice. Good girl, Spud!

We’re going to be setting up a game camera to see if Spinach is also around and just more stealthy.

Having Melody in the barn is a whole experience! This is an amazing breed that is worth every conservation effort. I hope you all get to meet a Shire some day! I also want to correct myself — the stud book was established in 1874!

These babies are almost ready to fly the nest! We have a ton of barn swallows that use the barn to raise babies and we love it. Though they do p**p quite a bit, the flies in the barn are virtually non-existent while the swallows are around!
