Spent some time in the mountains testing out a custom HDPE UTV hunting box I built for my Ranger.

Slide-out drawer for gear, weatherproof storage, and everything organized so you’re not digging through the bed when you’re out hunting.

I’m curious what other hunters, campers, over landers think

If you were building the perfect UTV setup, what features would you want in the box?

More drawers? Gun storage? Cooler space?

Thinking about building a few more of these and improving the design.

We have had various inquiries and questions on what the process looks like from start to finish.

What we need to know to create your customized Backcountry Trail Box:
1. Type of vehicle or use you have for our product.
A. If you are wanting a style of a box we have already have shown on our page we can move right along.
B. If are looking for something alittle more specific for your needs we will go over more in detail on what you are looking for.
*I will create rough concept drawings for your review.
*Once concept drawings are approved we move onto the design portion of the process.
*Questions we ask are color (currently only white and black).
*Size of box you are needing
*Drawer and Door locations
*Latch types and locations
*We also go over any special accessories we need to accommodate on the box (i.e. fuel cans, chainsaw holder, and so so much more)

2. Once drawings are confirmed for measurements and design we will require 50% payment to send product into production.

3. During production we will share videos and photos along the way.
4. Once production is completed we do video call or in person overview of the product to ensure customer satisfaction
5. Once final approval we line up either freight shipping, personal delivery or direct pickup at our location where final payment is due.
6. Once you receive your box we would appreciate feedback, hope you take countless pictures of your adventures and share with us so we can enjoy along with you.

What material do we use to build our boxes? Why that’s a great question you might ask!
We use HDPE (High-density Polyethylene). Below are a few of many exceptional attributes.

Hey everyone!

I want to take a minute to introduce myself and what led to me to start Backcountry Trail Boxes. My name is Matt Douglas. Married to my wife of 10 years and have 2 energetic boys. I was born and raised in small town Sutton, NE. I grew up farming, raised my own cattle and have been hunting for as long as I can remember. I was a Fire Fighter for 12 years, built houses and did renovations on the side. Then moved on to the role of Project Management.

My passion for designing & building led me to create my first Basic UTV box in 2014. I designed this to keep our hunting gear dry and to have specialized compartments for all our hunting items. As the years went on, I kept changing and perfecting the box which has now become an interest to many.
These boxes can be designed and customize to your needs. Whether that be for hunting, farming, outdoor recreational use, dog boxes & more. These boxes don’t just have to be for UTVs they can be customized for any vehicle!

I am excited to be here and look forward to the future of Backcountry Trail Boxes.
