At The Poppy Shoppe, we don’t simply create funeral arrangements—we create every tribute with pride, love, and the utmost care. 🤍

We understand that flowers cannot take away the pain of losing someone you love, but they can offer comfort, honor a beautiful life, and express the words that may be difficult to say during such a heartbreaking time.

Every arrangement is thoughtfully designed with attention to each detail. Whether you choose a casket spray, standing spray, sympathy arrangement, plant, or something completely personal, we will work closely with you to create a meaningful tribute that reflects your loved one and the memories you shared.

It is an honor when a family trusts us during one of life’s most difficult moments. We never take that responsibility lightly. Let The Poppy Shoppe help you remember and celebrate your loved one with a beautiful arrangement made with love, compassion, and care. 🕊️

On Mother’s Day, her son Don called us to send his momma a plant. We found the perfect one and knocked on her door. The sweetest soul opened it, and when I said, “This is for you” her eyes just lit up. ❤️

She asked me to help her bring it inside, and we chatted about plants for a few minutes before I went on my way. Every time I drove by her house after that, I thought about her and that sweet moment.

Rest easy, Martha. I’m so thankful our little flower shop gave me the chance to meet you. ❤️🌿

Martha Wostal McCloskey, age 82, was called home to our Lord on August 11, 2026. She was born on September 14, 1943, in Alice, Texas to Felix Alexander Wostal and Hazel (Thompson) Wostal. She graduated from Orange Grove High School in 1962. Highlights of her High School years include Homecoming Queen, Assistant Drum Major and FFA “Chapter Sweetheart”. She married her High School sweetheart, Don Ray McCloskey on November 30, 1963. They were married for 58 years until his death in 2022. They had three children, Don Ray McCloskey II (Anita), Lee Ann Richardson (Ron), and Niki Arnold.

In her adult years, she was a member of the Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and was a founding member of the 4H FFA Orange Grove Booster Club that benefited many children in the community through scholarships. Martha began her banking career in 1963 as a loan clerk and retired from Value Bank, Texas as Vice President of Credit Administration in 2016. After retirement, she volunteered at St. John of the Cross as Cemetery Association Treasurer. In her retirement, she enjoyed spending time with friends at Pebble with Ripples Community Senior Center socializing and playing Bingo.

Martha always looked forward to spending time with her family, cooking for Holidays, and other family gatherings.

The love she had for her family was the greatest joy of her life.
