See below and we hope to see you next weekend for the 59th annual Frontier Christmas 🎄
When you envision the future, it can be helpful to look to the past for wisdom.
On this Thanksgiving weekend, the folks of Washington Hall are thankful for the life and wisdom of an extraordinary Maysville High School English teacher, Miss Elizabeth Wallingford, without whom this building would not be serving in its current capacity.
Miss Wallingford had a vision for the future of historic Old Washington and made it reality by entrusting her savings to be used for preservation and restoration. Many of the beautiful historic buildings on Old Main Street were restored by Miss Wallingford through the Elizabeth Wallingford Foundation, including Washington Hall. The Foundation's latest project is just off the main street, called Federal Hill, and its restoration is actively underway.
“No one was more devoted to Washington,” Miss Luellen Pyles said of her friend Elizabeth Wallingford.
See for yourself the legacy and gift of Miss Wallingford next weekend, Saturday December 6th, when the 59th Annual Frontier Christmas festivities will be happening up and down Old Main Street in many of the preserved historic buildings including Washington Hall.
