Wanted everybody to know there is another page called RIAA AWARD COLLECTIONS BUY/SELL/AUTHENTICATE.
On that page Collectors can share photos of their own collections.
You can also post your AWARD WANT LIST on the page.
There are 1500 members so no telling what may be available for sale. Just fire away the Titles or Bands you're looking for.
You can also SELL your awards with certain criteria (Full disclosure of condition w/Issues listed if any). There are NO FEES involved selling awards there. Just post your awards for sale with price listed/Make an Offer etc and wait for the Private Messages to roll in. I dont want any deals/transactions done out in the open on the page. Everything should be done behind the scenes via the messenger system
If you see an award for sale ANYWHERE but you're not sure if its Authentic or not you can post pictures of the Front and Back of the award or send the photos to me and get a fairly quick answer. If the Photos are potentially COPYRIGHTED photos only send them to me directly via PM/Email and dont post on the page. I'll tell you if I think its legit or not and WHY I come to that conclusion.
On the FEATURED section of the page you will find useful tips on how to recognize FAKE Floaters and Strip Plate awards primarily. You will learn the correct frame shapes that the different award manufacturers used. You will also see the unique RIAA Logo design that each manufacturer used during that time period (1975-1985).
All members are to be respectful of others. For Example: If you think somebody is asking a ridiculous amount for an award they're selling, there is no need to question their asking price out in the open on the forum. That kind of conduct wont be tolerated and members who exhibit that kind of behavior will be removed from the group.
Its a Hobby....HAVE FUN WITH IT!! Hope those of you not currently signed up to the page will come on board. Any complaints about the page OR problems with any deals done on the page bring them to my attention or anybody listed as an ADMIN.
