Unforgiven (1992) is such a great movie. William Munny, played by Clint Eastwood, was a cold-blooded murderer who found redemption in his late wife. But an easy bounty turns tragic when they run into Little Bill, played brutally by Gene Hackman. As Munny clumsily kills in the canyon, Little Bill viciously beats, and kills, his longtime outlaw friend, Ned Logan (Morgan Freeman). Big mistake. The final scene in Skinny’s saloon is epic and is more than worth the slow boil of this Western drama.

When I saw this as a kid I was awestruck. Good movies weren’t as plentiful back then as they were now. I knew I would be waiting a while to be entertained like that again.
