A restoration story in three parts. 🧵✨
A rug’s fringe is often the first place to show age and wear. This beautiful Persian piece was starting to unravel, putting the entire structure at risk (Image 3).
Instead of a simple overcast stitch or cutting it back, we did what Wahi Rugs does best: a complete, structural reweave. Our process is about authenticity and preservation:
Image 1 ➡️ The ‘After’: Perfectly finished and secured.
Image 2 ➡️ The process: Slicing into the foundation and setting up our precision jig to re-anchor and re-create the warp threads.
Image 3 ➡️ The ‘Before’: Serious unraveling and damage.
