Little building update, it’s kicking my butt

We originally planned to open in early July, but as anyone doing renovations knows, things never go exactly as planned — and these floors are taking way longer than expected. So it looks like we’ll be pushing our opening to mid July.

Between working full time at my day job, spending every extra minute working on the shop, and keeping up with vending events, I’ve had to remind myself that I can’t do everything at once (even if I try ).

We’re getting there, and I promise it’ll be worth the wait. Thank you for sticking with us while we build something magical.

As I was rough sanding the last room with some 36 grit and getting frustrated because as much as we scraped the floor prior to sanding it has eaten up so much sandpaper, I did save money by buying some from amazon, but home depot and the price tag of $15 for one. I turned my frustration to gratefulness. I love my community of friends and family.

Carla Lutz and her Hercules of a husband for saving me a ton of money with the drum sander, right now I would have hit over $600 in rental fees from Home Depot.

My kids, for tearing up carpet and padding, to take out all the debris. My oldest for pulling up every nail in the floor and sitting beside me and scrapping the floors. Teen witch was a huge part as well but she had work and school.

My Viking for never once complaining and being supportive of the new venture. This was not a planned event in our lives, we have home projects we had planned and he is doing them solo as I am doing stuff here and I snagged the oldest for help.

The friends that have stopped by to check on me and drop off drinks or the best part to just talk and make me take a break. The random yard sale trips on Sunday. I found deals of stuff the the crone and I have talked about. The universe gave me what I needed at a better price tag then what was in my amazon cart.

Our customers, thank you! Everyone that has supported our family business, we put our money right back into our products and now the building.

To the owners of the building, thank you for giving me a chance to make my mom’s dream a reality.

Hopefully this is the final day of sanding! The initial sanding took days, if anyone wants to guess how many sand paper drums we went through, I will give a prize. Later I will do a guess the final cost to do the floors by yourself.
