You met behind the brick gymnasium at exactly 3:00 PM.

You threw hands until someone's nose started leaking.

It was the fastest, most ruthlessly efficient HR department in history.

You took a solid right hook to the jaw and ate it like a champion.

You caught a black eye that you wore like a medal of absolute honor.

Then you wiped the dirt off your jeans and firmly shook hands.

The hostility was immediately and permanently deleted.

The very next day, that exact same kid was your first pick for kickball.

You built an unbreakable brotherhood on a solid foundation of bruised knuckles.

We didn't hold passive-aggressive grudges.

We just settled the score and went right back to ruling the playground.
