Today we celebrated Sivan’s Bat Mitzvah.
Her name, Sivan, carries a beautiful meaning this year. As we honor her stepping into Jewish adulthood, we also stand at the threshold of Rosh Chodesh Sivan, the beginning of the Hebrew month of Sivan.
The month of Sivan is the month in which the Jewish people gathered at Mount Sinai and received the Torah. It is a time of revelation, growth, responsibility, and covenant.
Watching Sivan read from the Torah and share her thoughts filled my heart with gratitude and awe. I see in her a thoughtful, compassionate, intelligent, and courageous young woman who is beginning to claim her own voice and her own place in our tradition.
My prayer is that she continues to walk through life with wisdom, kindness, curiosity, and strength. May she always know who she is, where she comes from, and the sacred light she brings to the world.
Mazal Tov, Sivan. We are endlessly proud of you and love you beyond words.
