Istanbul. Upstate. The studio.
Three women. Three completely different mornings. The same red dress.
Gionna found a market in Istanbul and bought something she didn't need. The dress came with her.
Jenn went upstate for the weekend and remembered what it felt like to slow down. The dress came with her too.
And in the studio — column silhouette, sculpted shoulder, nowhere to be. Just itself.
There's a certain kind of piece you reach for when you want to feel like yourself. Not dressed up. Not dressed down. Just dressed.

She wore it on the day that mattered most.
— founder, tastemaker, mother — spent Mother's Day in the Avignon Embroidered Cut-Out Dress with her son Legend.
No styling notes needed. No occasion brief. Just a woman who knows what she wants to wear and chose this.
The Avignon is embroidered cotton with a subtle all-over sparkle and low hip cut-outs that fit like they were made for her. Designed and made in Istanbul. The kind of dress that makes the day feel like it deserves to be remembered.

She took the Biarritz to Mexico City.
Shopping. Eating. Walking through streets that deserved a red dress.
Sneakers, because she had things to do and places to be — and the dress came along without complaint.
This is what we mean when we say Kaphill is made for real life. Not for the back of your closet. Not for the occasion that never quite comes. For the Tuesday in Mexico City when you just want to feel like yourself.
wore it better than we could have styled it ourselves.

Three Black artists who understood that color, space, and structure are never just aesthetic choices — they're declarations.
Alma Thomas painted in circles of vibrant color at a time when the art world had no place for her. She made space for herself on the canvas and called it joy.
Norma Merrick Sklarek built Terminal One at LAX. She designed structures that hold thousands of people every day — most of whom will never know her name. She built anyway.
Patrick Kelly brought color, love, and an unapologetic Blackness to Paris fashion and made them make room. He dressed women in celebration.
Three different disciplines. The same decision: to show up fully, take up space, and build something that lasts.
That's what I think about when I design.
The Biarritz dress is our version of that decision. Column structure. Bra cup detail. Sculpted shoulder. Red — the color that doesn't ask permission.

said what she said.

The Biarritz Sculpted Shoulder Turtleneck. Structured shoulders, fitted collar, and the kind of quality that earns a permanent spot in a real wardrobe.

She found it. She wore it. She kept it.

Spring '27 has a muse. Two of them.
My grandmother left Jamaica with the odds stacked against her. She came to a country that wasn't built for her, and she bought land anyway. Built a home anyway. Got dressed like every day was worth celebrating — because she decided it was. Nobody gave her permission. She just lived.
My mother left Jamaica too. First in our family to graduate college. She carried everything my grandmother built and went further with it. Partied. Traveled. Showed up fully and visibly in every room she entered.
Two women. Same island. The same quiet, unshakeable decision to live well — beautifully and fully — regardless of what the world put in front of them.
When I put the Biarritz dress on my mother, I understood exactly why I make what I make.
Kaphill exists because of women like them. Women who chose beauty and intention not as luxuries — but as an act of knowing exactly who they were.
Spring '27 is theirs.

This week’s edit — for the woman who lives deliberately.

We’re wearing red. We’re watching something that reminds us what it looks like to commit fully to a vision. We’re finding the bar that feels like ours. We’re making something simple and grounding for dinner.

This is what living well looks like this week. Not perfect. Just intentional.

The full edit — including what we’re recommending and what we’re wearing — is at http://kaphill.com/pages/live-well

She lives well, fully and beautifully. Meet Chantal. .b

By day, she moves through the fashion world with the kind of ease that comes from years of knowing exactly who she is. By night, she’s an author — building worlds on the page with the same intention she brings to everything else.

She wore the Sarlat set to a book fair in Atlanta. Not because it was the obvious choice. Because it was the right one.

That’s the thing about a Kaphill woman. She doesn’t dress for the occasion. She dresses for herself — and the occasion rises to meet her.

Chantal has been part of this community from the beginning. A day one. The kind of woman this brand was made for, and the kind of woman who makes us want to keep building it.

We see you, Chantal. Thank you for wearing it the way you do.
