A lot of Americans don’t even know that in 2012, Congress held a hearing on chronic pain.
Yup, it was so bad that they convened a hearing to figure out why so many hundreds of millions of people had terrible pain and could barely get relief, let alone heal with our healthcare system.
But Senator Harkin, the chairperson of the committee hosting the hearing surprised them all.
He brought a man who few people knew, despite him being the head of Rehabilitative Medicine at NYU’s Medical School since 1965.
Senator Harkin told his story that day, as well as the story of how his niece cured her fibromyalgia with Dr. Sarno’s work.
Now, Sarno’s work is spreading and people desperate to finally get results are taking to it as well.
This video is a clip from the hearing where Senator Harkin explains that we need to look outside our broken medical system for new therapies if we want to solve the massive problem of chronic pain.
He also inadvertently paraphrases mindfulness legend John Kabat-Zinn when he states that we need to not only better educate our doctors and medical professionals on ideas like Dr. Sarnos, but also educate people about how they can be more aware of their own bodies and how to heal.
Sadly, not many have heard his message.
Have you ever heard of him? Comment SARNO if you have and also comment QUIZ and I’ll help you learn whether or not Sarno’s groundbreaking work can help YOU! ❤️🩹
