In 1993 I began an apprenticeship at The Guitar Clinic during summer break from college to learn the craft of lutherie and guitar repair. In the fall I did not return to college instead, I was working full time for the now 2 man operation. 1997 brought me to San Diego.

When swapping a pickup and the 2 are now out of phase you have to swap the wires on one pickup. Simple enough most of the time unless you've got chrome covered P90's. Wires must be switched at the source, not the destination.

Here's the 46'. Could have done a reset, but it was certainly playable with enough saddle left. The guitar had been poorly refret at some point, loose frets, chipouts in the FB, 3 corner file scratches, badly crowned frets, ugly bevel. We opted to work with what we had, a refret would have meant a reset as well. The bridge had not been sanded. Seated and glued the frets, dressed and properly crowned, saddle with some compensation and it all came together.
