We have been quiet on here! To be fully transparent keeping up with all the social media platforms, booking systems, redoing the website, update certifications etc… Facebook usually is last thought. However a goal for 2025 is to be better at sharing the things happening at the shop on ALL our platforms… send your best wishes 🤣

Introducing “because Chelsey Says So” a little thing I’ll be doing where when you see this treatment room selfie I’ll be laying down some knowledge that’s backed with science, hands on experience and a little bit of bc I said so 🤣🤣

To start: Exfoliation, no we shouldn’t be doing it as much as you most likely are doing it. Why? Because as living and breathing clumps of cells that form tissues then organs etc… our bodies already naturally turn over (exfoliate) our skin cells. Then you add in things like: using a wash cloth in shower (physical exfoliant), wearing tight fitted clothing (friction), using a brightening body lotion (what makes it brightening? I’ll bet an acid aka chemical exfoliant) now we move onto the face… if you’re using a “renewing” , “acne”, “brightening” cleanser I would bet it has some sort of exfoliation to it. Your toner that is for acne or anti aging also probably has an exfoliation ingredient, retinol? Encourages cell turnover aka exfoliation. That means before even getting to actual exfoliation you could have exfoliated 3x in your routine. No wonder everyone has torn up barriers!

My opinion with exfoliation: less is more. Rarely do I find skins that need to exfoliate more than one time a week with a true exfoliation product.

Constantly churning out those skin cells and forcing the skin into overdrive is going to: make the skin overly sensitive, possibly cause more breakouts, more dryness, more oiliness and overall a less vibrant skin health.

We are launching our new line soon! I’m so thrilled with the results I’ve been getting with clients while trialing these treatments. It is all about it nourishing the skin with a huge emphasis on skin health and minimally invasive treatments that still give maximum results (even with just one treatment, as seen below!) what I have really enjoyed is how friendly to all skin colors and types these treatments are along with how versatile they are in regard to lifestyle- most are pregnancy/breast feeding safe, safe for eczema prone skin, rosacea safe etc….

Jessner peel! The results will continue to reveal themselves over 4 weeks. It’s normal for acneic skin to have purging breakouts after deep layered peels like a Jessner. It’s a good thing! Melanocytes that cause dark spots, sun damage and hyperpigmentation are like magnets, they LOVE each other. The closer they get to the skin the more visible they can be but the more we can break them up from one another which results in lightening the dark spots. We have made so much progress with this client, so proud of her!
