Nerding out with my newly thrifted Houseplant book. She thicc but flipping through the pages I’ve read a few interesting facts on lithops, euphorbia and air plants 🌱 Going to drop some helpful info on artificial lighting in case you’re curious about indoor plant care!

Also, look at that big ol crested euphorbia monstrose. Was this common room decor in the 80s-90s?! 🫪

Blooming Echeveria

I'm admiring my Echeveria in bloom before it shrivels up and dies. This Echeveria is a monocarpic variant, meaning it blooms only once in its lifetime and then dies. If you're lucky, you can produce leaf propagations from the leaves on the stem. In my experience, fresh blooms attract pests, mostly aphids, so it's crucial to monitor your succulents. When pests appear, I remove the entire bloom to the base of the plant and discard it. While beautiful, the blooms aren't worth the risk of infesting other nearby plants! 🫪
