Here’s a fly fishing themed banjo we built a few years ago for our friend Elizabeth in Maine. Elizabeth sent us one of her gray ghost flies that she makes to model the inlay off of. We never got around to sharing photos of this one, which is a shame. It’s been one of favorite builds.

Added a banjo chat forum to our lesson website! I’m pretty tired of using Facebook as the main mode for communication, most of the time the site doesn’t show me what everyone’s up to. Hopefully this will allow us all to connect and talk more about our favorite instrument! Also integrated a metronome and tuner onto the website, a little birdie tells me you guys are playing out of tune 🪕 🐥

Here is a video from Banjo Camp Midwest of Ethan Setiawan (MVP of banjo camp) and me playing the tune Salt Spring written by John Reischman. I’m playing this tune in double D tuning, this tune should be played in the key of A. Do as I say not as I do 😅
Very lucky I’ve been able to see so many friends this summer at camps and make so many new friends as well. Thanks for playing with me Ethan!

Banjo available!
This banjo does not lack in details even without inlay. We built this banjo for Lukas to bring to camps and play for the summer, and now it’s up for grabs. We picked out some beautifully figured and colorful walnut and ebony, and added a triple center strip detail down the back. Add that with our custom cast shoes that we make in house and you’ve got a beauty with a warm and rich sound.

Figured Walnut banjo neck with a 26” scale length, Exotic Figured Ebony fingerboard, Slotted Headstock, S scoop, 12” laminate pot with a rolled brass tone ring, a Renaissance head, a hammered tailpiece, and custom cast art deco shoes designed and made by us.
