I wanted to make a fundraising graphic that’s more shareable so we can hopefully reach our goal by July!

For those of you who may have missed it, we found a space to rent to bring an indie bookstore to North Mt. Juliet 🎉 however we need help getting into it and renovating so we can bring this dream to life 💕

Every share or small donation helps 🎉

THIS SATURDAY 🎉 June 6th I’ll be popping up at the Village Forager with new and used books, blind dates, secret stories, books for kiddos, and bookish accessories 🤩

I’ll have books available from local authors and we just got a shipment in of almost all of the Dungeon Crawler Carl series 👏🏻

Imagine this with me: a cozy bookstore with full shelves, soft couches, tables and chairs for studying or just reading at, a safe space for community and connection, a cute little kids area where they can play and read while parents shop. This is just the start of what I’m dreaming up for this store space.

While we don’t have the funds yet, I can’t help but dream for the space we’re looking at. It’s big enough for all of this and so much more! 🥹

July is the deadline for when we need at least the beginning funds to get moved in and set up (adding shelves, books, and the little remodeling we need to do), this is about $10k.

If we can reach $10k by July then we could have a new physical bookstore in Mt. Juliet by August 🎉

Mt. Juliet doesn’t have an indie bookstore. Yet.

This is me in someone else’s bookstore in someone else’s town, and I’m doing something I wish every Mt. Juliet reader could do 5-10 minutes from home.

I’m browsing shelves, discovering stories, wandering around with no particular plan.

This is what I want The Open Shelf to be for our community, I want it to be a place where you can find your next favorite read, connect with neighbors, sit on cozy couches for hours and just belong and feel safe no matter what kind of reader you are.

I am crowdfunding right now to make this happen, and every dollar brings me closer to opening doors right here in Mt. Juliet. We have a month and a half to raise the money to get the current space we’re looking at.
