Four score and seven moons ago our founder brought forth on this continent, a new brand, Chasin’ Luna, conceived in creativity, and dedicated to the proposition that all styles are created equal.
Now we are engaged in a great cultural revival, testing whether this brand, or any brand so conceived and so dedicated, can long endure.

The Story of Lake D’Arbonne 🌊

Before the sparkling waters, this was Bayou D’Arbonne — a historic waterway where steamboats once chugged and locals crossed by ferry at Forks Ferry.
In 1957, visionaries in Union Parish dreamed bigger. The Louisiana Legislature stepped up with funding, a massive dam was completed in 1961, and by 1963, the gates closed to create this stunning 15,000+ acre reservoir. Today, Lake D’Arbonne stretches 15 miles long with over 100 miles of shoreline, offering world-class fishing, scenic beauty, and endless outdoor memories in north Louisiana.
From flood control and future water supply to a fishing haven for bass, crappie, and more — this man-made gem has become a beloved treasure for generations.

📜 Did you know this piece of Louisiana history?

Meet Jean Baptiste D’Arbonne, an early French colonial figure whose name is forever etched into the landscape of Northeast Louisiana.
Born into a family of explorers and settlers, Jean Baptiste was the son of Jean-Baptiste d’Arbonne of Natchitoches — the oldest permanent European settlement in the Louisiana Purchase territory. Their lineage traces back to Gaspard Derbanne, a Canadian hunter and frontiersman who accompanied Louis Juchereau de St. Denis on the historic 1714 expedition that helped establish French presence along the Red River.
While not a widely famous statesman or general, D’Arbonne represents the rugged spirit of the French coureurs des bois and early settlers who helped shape the bayous, trading posts, and communities of colonial Louisiana.
Bayou D’Arbonne (and later Lake D’Arbonne) in Union Parish were named in his honor, a lasting tribute to his family’s role in the region’s early development.
From the wilds of Natchitoches to the cypress swamps and piney woods of North Louisiana — these names carry stories of adventure, resilience, and the blending of cultures that created the unique Creole and Cajun heritage we celebrate today.
