So... a little more on the name Fragile Giants Pottery. Several years ago we moved to a home in the Loess Hills. The Loess Hills in western Iowa get the nickname "fragile giants" because of their massive, towering size and the highly delicate, powdery nature of their windblown sediment. I like to think clay feels much the same to me: soft and malleable in your hands at first, yet capable of becoming something lasting and strong.
