Xplorer Maps creates the world's finest hand-drawn and hand-lettered illustrations of national parks and other significant historical sites and travel destinations throughout the world. Originally designed to pay homage to the early cartographers, these high-quality and exceptionally detailed custom maps are rendered by Chris Robitaille (Xplorer Maps artist and co-founder) using an antique, old-wo

Father’s Day has its roots in the American West. In 1910, Spokane, Washington resident Sonora Smart Dodd organized the first Father’s Day celebration to honor her father, a Civil War veteran who raised six children as a single parent after his wife passed away. What began as one daughter's tribute to a hardworking, adventurous father eventually became the national holiday we celebrate today.

More than a century later, Father’s Day remains a time to celebrate the dads, grandfathers, mentors, and father figures who teach us to explore, discover, and appreciate the outdoors.

Whether they’re fishing, hiking, camping, boating, traveling, or simply spending long days outside, the Xplorer Maps UltraLight Sun Shirt Hoodie was designed for summer adventure.

Lightweight, breathable, moisture-wicking, and built with UPF 50+ sun protection, these performance hoodies are made for warm weather and all-day comfort — featuring the hand-illustrated map artwork Xplorer Maps is known for.

Can you guess what destination is taking shape? Drop your best guess in the comments below! We'll be watching to see who can crack the mystery before the big reveal.

Watch as artist Chris Robitaille transforms a blank canvas into one of our newest hand-drawn story maps....... one line, one letter and one watercolor wash at a time. Each map takes 6-8 weeks to create and is drawn entirely by hand, capturing the landscapes, wildlife, history and character that make a place special.

After all, every place has a story. The question is... which story is Chris telling next?

Conservation happens when communities come together.

A heartfelt thank you to American Rivers, Wild Montana, Trail Head River Sports and every organization, volunteer, educator and advocate who helped make this year’s Trails, Rivers & Forests Expo such a success. Your passion, expertise, and interactive experiences inspired Missoulians to connect more deeply with the rivers, trails, forests, and wild places we all cherish.

At Xplorer Maps, we believe every place has a story worth telling… and every person who works to protect those places helps shape that story. We’re grateful for your time, your dedication and your commitment to preserving the landscapes that make Montana extraordinary.

Here’s to the people behind the places we love. 🌲🏞️💙

We're thrilled that our upcoming presentation with Geoffrey Gill has reached capacity. Thank you for the incredible response!

That said, if you'd still like to attend, don't give up just yet. We almost always have a handful of no-shows at these events, and open seats are typically released shortly before the presentation begins.

If you're interested, come down to the shop, check in with us, and be patient—we'll do our best to get everyone seated as space becomes available.

Join us for an evening of stunning photography, river stories, and a deeper look at Montana's Wild and Scenic Three Forks of the Flathead River with fisheries scientist, river ranger, and outdoor educator Geoffrey Gill.
