Crafting has always been my solace in grief. For Evie's first birthday I made her a special rock for grave, painted with You Are My Sunshine.
The first year I did craft sales for my laser cut ornaments this one was one of my best sellers. I would have shaky widows come to buy it at shows or people who wanted to do something for the person who just lost someone. Grief is hard especially at Christmas. I enjoyed the distraction and having her name out there.
As the years progressed I found joy in making other items and making my own designs. This ornament was to the side but always in the back of my mind. Many laser people make this one, each with their own twist. The file isn't my own. The design I loved comes from one or my favorite designers, Recycled Farmhouse. While I haven't sold many in the last few years its always something I try to carry to my shows.
Two weekends ago was our last show and as we finished a few last minute items I thought ornament sales are over a rush requests for this ornament came in. As I sit here on Christmas day, I can't think of a better way to think of Evie and make these in honor of someone's loved one.
