Update! I'm posting this as so many of you have been checking on me and have been incredible prayer warriors who need to know your prayers have been answered! One week ago today I donated a kidney as a "non-directed/good Samaritan donor". Today I can report that I'm doing great overall with just the expected amount of discomfort. Yesterday I feel like I turned a corner and now have more energy with less pain! But truly the best news I can share is that my surgeon reported the transplant was immediately successful and the recipient is off dialysis with a new lease on life! God is good!

But I also post this to plant a seed in your thoughts about doing the same! Kidney donations are 99% successful and complications to the donor are extremely rare. While I wouldn't call it a fun experience, it has been extremely rewarding! There are so many people hanging on for dear life until they receive a transplant! If this post sparks any interest or questions about being a donor, don't hesitate to reach out to me for more information! Please feel free to share this post as awareness is the first step!
