Working on a whitetail deer skull pipe made out of meerschaum. Going to carve some antlers out of mahogany.

The challenge will be to press fit the antlers into the skull tightly as you can't glue into meerschaum.

I need to finish some pipes that I started for some friends, so I decided to get back into practice by finishing this stummel by putting a whitetail deer horn shank extension and longer stem.

Well, it's not finished yet, but it gave me fits. Drilled the stem crooked due to slight twist in antler, broke the shank near the bowl, then drilled thru the to***co chamber (which I plugged with delrin).

I refused to give up as I was determined to see it thru, and I might as well pile all the mistakes until a pipe that I'm keeping.

The end result? An ugly, but extremely smooth smoking pipe!

Gonna enjoy this abomination for a long time! :-)
