Live edge slab of Ash from a farm in Belleville, WI. The legs and top were all from the same long piece. We kept the live edge to show the non-uniformity of nature. Rivers offer us great metaphors - following paths, or carving new ones. Constantly evolving - even the "same river" is always changing, always in flux.

Two recent experiences working from the Nakashima conoid table as inspiration. The cedar patio table required some additional feet to keep the main spine at the bottom from twisting (cedar is soft and flexible, allowed the table to wobble a lot). The walnut table was done enitrely by hand, no power tools, which was a great learning experience. The walnut slab is from The Wood Cycle in Madison, was locally harvested, and came milled and mostly finished.

Oak legs with (a) Wisconsin cherry on top (haha). I liked the idea of high symmetry in the base with natural randomness on the seat. First time with epoxy finish, tried a hodge podge of things...kind of a mess 😜

Tissue box with nice geometry, made from hickory and walnut with a clear oil finish. A couple of pics in the collage show the box before adding the oil. I really liked the bare walnut.
