To my wonderful customers and friends: this is my last newsletter before I hand the newsletters over to the capable hands of Margaret & Kristina. Please know that I have loved this shop and every one of you with all of of my heart. As I said the other day - this is not an end, it is just the beginning of a new chapter. All Canvases 20% OFF

The Alice Peterson Trunk Show is here and canvases are being snapped up faster than I ever imagined!! This is one of our absolutely favorite artists and obviously one of your favorites as well. If you want that special canvas that you can't stop thinking about - do not delay.

That being said, there are still hundreds of wonderful canvases in the show for you to browse through. Canvases in every category you can think of - ornaments, Christmas stockings, eyeglass cases, and brick covers, as well as beautiful canvases for pillows and framing. Themes run from birth announcements, to holidays, florals, geometrics, animals, tropicals, sayings, sports, birds & butterflies to name a few. There are bright and colorful canvases, serious and whimsical canvases, as well as lovely pastel canvases. In other words - there is something for everyone. And - as a bonus there are quite a few Gayla Elliott canvases also (think The Stitching Girl...)

We had a full house for Stitch & Learn last Saturday and it was as much fun as always! We had stitchers working on Gorgeous Vase and others working on their own Works In Progress. Lots of great conversation and lots of help from the staff as well as other stitchers. It's the old "everyone helps everyone" theory of the art! Help with stitch ideas, help with fiber choices, help with techniques that are a little tricky, and help finding an interesting TV program to watch at night as you stitch. And, of course, there is always time for finding that new fabulous canvas! If you have never had the opportunity to join us for Stitch & Learn - you really need to try to come by. Stitch Miami will be continuing this tradition and future dates are:

October 26
November 16
December 14

There is no charge - all you need to do is call to let us know you are coming so we can make sure we have enough space.

Please make note of the dates above when Absolutely Needlepoint will be closed for two weeks as we transition to the new owners and our new name (Stitch Miami). Given that we will be packing much of what is currently in the store (the store is getting a much needed make-over), we do ask that if we have called you to say that you have finishing or a special order ready for pick up, please try to come in no later than September 21 so that we do not have to pack it and store it during the transition.

For those of you who have finishing and/or special orders that have not come in by Sept 21, rest assured that the transition to Stitch Miami will be seamless and you will be called as soon as it comes in. And while Margaret and Kristina will be welcome new faces eager to meet you, all of us old faces will also still be around to help you with your needlepoint needs. 🌴

I told you these ladies were on the ball and had lots of new ideas and events in mind. This is just the beginning of lots of exciting new happenings...

Upcoming & Ongoing
September 24 - 28: Absolutely Needlepoint will be closed so we can get things ready for the new owners, who will be giving the store a much needed makeover.

October 1 - 5: Stitch Miami will be closed while Margaret and Kristina bring the store into the 21st Century with a whole new look and a whole new vibe! We are so excited to see all the changes!!

October 19: Meet & Greet Welcome Reception for Stitch Miami. Save the Date - this will be tons of fun!

We just received the Mid Century Christmas Village - 6 fabulous canvases designed by Karen Grant. They are bright, charming designs that will be tons of fun to stitch - and then display during the holidays. The designs call for lots of different fibers as well as different stitches and your imagination can just run wild (and for those of you who like to stitch from stitch guides - there are stitch guides currently under development). There is a Church, a Diner, a Toy Store, a Sweet Shop, a Market, and a Home.

I ordered these as soon as I saw them - I just couldn't resist. I don't think they will be around long, so if you are interested - let us know. They are 18 mesh and although are different sizes, are in the neighborhood of 8 x 5.
